The Jedi Jedi Fecta Trigiel, Ariana Danacia and Shebi Ajava are sent to assist a Union agent known as 'Black Swan'. Black Swan has infiltrated the Mandalorian Fleets clan Elkroth, a rival clan of clan Malkoth from which the current Mandalore hails. Black Swan is in a position to take control of clan Elkroth, which will allow the Union to get the focus of the Mandalorians back to internal conflict.

Undercover as the freelance arms dealers Mirak Askbu, Ordina Petal and Myla Arak the three Jedi infiltrate the Elkroth second fleet. Here they rendesvouz with Black Swan. Black Swan informs them of a subfaction within clan Elkroth that needs to be discredited, and a way is found to do this without killing: the Jedi will stage a botched attempt on the life of the poison trader Jornithar. When it comes to light that he isn't actually dead, the subfaction that dedicates itself to 'The art of the kill' will lose influence and face within clan Elkroth, allowing Black Swan to take control.

Black Swan arranged for the necessary hardware for the Jedi, and the plan was executed without a hitch.
